This is the first post on my blog "Schoolhouse Thoughts" my play on the popular Schoolhouse ROCKS series. I felt that this was an appropriate title because it matches my teaching style in the classroom. Any time a song or fun can be added to an otherwise boring lesson I do my best to incorporate them. Although I was never planning on teaching in kindergarten, that is the most important thing that it has taught me so far: there is always time for a song, a dance, and a smile. There is no reason to take yourself too seriously.
I know that you are enjoying the songs and dances in Kindergarten.....Do you think they serve particular purposes (besides being fun?!) Can you bring the songs and dances to other grades, or are they for K only?
ReplyDeleteI think that songs are a great way to learn no matter what age! I fully intend on singing and dancing when I get into fourth grade next semester. Songs are a great way to remember information and have fun while doing it.
